Vicki established this speech-language pathology private practice in 1994 following varied clinical experiences in hospitals, nursing homes, and educational settings. Her mandate was to provide quality speech-language pathology services in a professional setting to children and adults with a team of experienced speech-language pathologists.
Obtaining her license to practice in the state of Indiana, Vicki provided speech language therapy for two years in nursing homes in Indianapolis and Danville, Indiana. She was a member of the Cleft Palate Team at the IWK Health Centre for 10 years and during that time provided supervision to speech-language pathology interns. She has maintained a certified membership in ASHA (American Speech and Hearing Association) and also CASLPA (Canadian Association of Speech Language Pathologist) and SHANS (Speech and Hearing Association of Nova Scotia).
Areas of specialized training and expertise include childhood and adult stuttering, preschool speech and language delays, language and literacy problems in school age children, oro-facial speech problems, autism, Parkinson’s Disease and stroke. She has volunteered for the Heart and Stroke Foundation of NS for over 20 years. The clinic has fundraised and made donations to the Provincial Autism Centre.
